Another happy Monday everyone. I hope you had a great week and are ready for more pickleball. Thank you for all of the kind words. So many of you have taken the time to let me know how much you’re enjoying the website.
If you want to take the next step and contribute to the website and write a column or contribute a story (like Tim link and Andrea link did last week), please let me know via the contact page.
Aside for some thunderstorms tomorrow, the week looks great to be outdoors again with temperatures in the low-mid 60’s.
Boot Camp November
It’s been confirmed that Kathleen and I will be teaching another boot camp session at Fort Monmouth Rec Center on Tuesdays in November. As I understand, there’s already a waiting list. Jim will do his best to accommodate waiting list folks before posting it to the park’s website this week.
For those that don’t know about the boot camp. It’s 4 x 1-1/2 hour sessions targeted at the advanced beginner/intermediate player that want to move up to intermediate play. We focus on 1 -2 key skills each week. The goal is to make it so that you and a partner or a group can get out and practice in a dedicated practice session to improve your game. For more information on levels, please see the Skill Level Rankings page.
Tip of the Week
I came across this video when looking for a good warm-up routine before playing. As I was watching this, I was in awe of the consistency of the shots. I am not suggesting that you have to do all of these, but understanding that warmups are more than just getting to the net and dinking for a few minutes, hopefully, everyone will get what they need from a warmup.
Last Week’s Poll
Last week’s poll was interesting. Hopefully, the videos and stories that were shared last week will encourage everyone to step it up a level and increase the likelihood of stretching before getting on the court to play.
This Week’s Poll
This week’s poll is also following the theme about warming up but also about etiquette.
Tournament News
This Thursday the Atlantic Regional tournament starts in Hartford, CT. I know a number of local players are signed up to compete. Help me in wishing everyone the best of luck in the tournament!
