Pickleball Intensity Rating
In an effort to help people find the right type of games in the area, I’ve developed a rating system that indicates the level of competitiveness. This is not to suggest that competitive games can’t include a level of casualness or vice versa, but is more designed to help people find games that match their motivation and attitude when playing pickleball.
By using this rating the PBIR in conjunction wiht the IFP Skill rating, it can set expectations of the type of play that will most likely occur.

| 4 | Tournament | For those that just want to play pickleball. No other conversation is necessary. Faint-of-heart need not apply. |
| 3 | Competitive | I am here to improve my game and play against other players who want to get better. I want to win! |
| 2 | Casual | Let’s have some good pickleball and some fun. It's nice to win, but I want to have a good time. |
