Last month I wrote that I was looking for someone to take over monmouthpickleball.org  since I’ll be moving out of state in April. While a number of people were interested, most said they just didn’t have the time. Well, I’m thrilled to let you know that I found an awesome couple to take over the website so it can continue to be part of the community.

Katrina Petrovich and Jake Wellman have graciously offered their time and energy to keep Monmouth Area Pickleball alive and growing. I’m super excited to get a different perspective and see where they take the site.

One of the things I’m most excited about is their passion to introduce and grow pickleball with younger players. By focusing on this demographic, it makes it easier to get support and funding for more and dedicated pickleball courts.

Katrina and Jacob have been playing pickleball for about six months. They got their start outside at the YMCA in Red Bank thanks to Katrina’s dad Dave. Their love of the game has intensified and they are always seeking out a good game.

Katrina, originally from Ocean Township, is an attorney and writer. Jacob was born and raised in Kentucky. He is a teacher and sport and recreation professional. They’re combining their areas of expertise and passion to help the website grow, expand the Monmouth Area Pickleball community, and raise interest in and awareness of the sport.

Most of the transition should be seamless but look for further posts and updates during this transition to detail any changes that may impact you as well as more insight from Katrina and Jake.

Please join me in welcoming them and provide them the same level of support you have provided me.

Greg, I enjoyed many of your thoughtful articles on the sport of pickleball. Although I’m not in your area, it is people like you that make the sport grow and interesting. I wish you well in your next endeavour and I’m sure your new neighbourhood will be looking for your support in the sport of pickleball. I’m impressed with your website and it is certainly well organized. Good luck and happy pickling.
